Instructions given by Joseph Smith the Prophet, at Nauvoo, Illinois, February 9, 1843, making known three grand keys by which the correct nature of ministering angels and spirits may be distinguished. HC 5: 267.
1–3, There are both resurrected and spirit bodies in heaven; 4–9, Keys are given whereby messengers from beyond the veil may be identified.
1 There are two kinds of beings in heaven, namely: Angels, who are resurrected personages, having bodies of flesh and bones—
2 For instance, Jesus said: Handle me and see, for a spirit hath not flesh and bones, as ye see me have.
3 Secondly: the spirits of just men made perfect, they who are not resurrected, but inherit the same glory.
4 When a messenger comes saying he has a message from God, offer him your hand and request him to shake hands with you.
5 If he be an angel he will do so, and you will feel his hand.
6 If he be the spirit of a just man made perfect he will come in his glory; for that is the only way he can appear—
7 Ask him to shake hands with you, but he will not move, because it is contrary to the order of heaven for a just man to
deceive; but he will still deliver his message.
8 If it be the devil as an angel of light, when you ask him to shake hands he will offer you his hand, and you will not feel anything; you may therefore detect him.
9 These are three grand keys whereby you may know whether any administration is from God.
I was talking with a Mormon and opened up to this chapter, I Read out loud to him verses 1-4, then I stopped and offered to shake his hand, he did not exactly want to, but he did. I gave him a very firm handshake, then flat out asked him, did you feel my hand shake, he said yes, so then I read the rest of the chapter to him.
after I was done, I said to him, since you felt my hand shake, this proves I am a messanger from God, and I have a message for you. Joseph Smith is a false prophet and the BoM is not from God. The Mormon smiled and told me he honestly has no answer for me, but he did smile and liked that. so this is one you can do with mormons and see how they reply. Rick b

Angels are essentially “ministering spirits,” (Hebrews 1:14) and do not have physical bodies like humans. Jesus declared that “a spirit hath not flesh and bones, as ye see me have” (Luke 24:37-39).
The Bible does, however, make it clear that angels can only be in one place at a time. They must have some localized presence.
Angels can take on the appearance of men when the occasion demands. How else could some “entertain angels unaware” (Hebrews 13:2)? On the other hand, their appearance is sometimes in dazzling white and blazing glory (Matthew 28:2-4).

Rick, Jeff discusses the LDS and uses one clip you may have used previously.
Just for fun I will answer this one. First and foremost it says that we should offer our hand to the messenger and request to shake it, not the other way around. What did you do Rick? You were the one to request the handshake. Well, well, well - you did not follow protocol!
Anyway, now lets get serious. This is talking about heavenly messengers, not human messengers. We know that humans are physical and real and we know what they look like. Heavenly messengers, whether angel or "spirits of just men made perfect" will look different than a normal human being as they will come in glory. Satan and his minions can mimic this, but they are only spirits, not corporeal. This is why we have been given this section - so we may know how to tell the difference between these beings. So you misunderstood what the scripture was about in performing your little act. It is not talking about human messengers like yourself, but heavenly messengers.

Ralph, Your joking arnt you? Your telling me, you have seen with your own eyes and know with out a hand shake the difference between Humans, and spirits.
Also, I have spoken with many LDS who have shaken my hand and felt it, I have a firm hand shake, I can always start with I am a messanger from God, But what if they do not offer me their hand? Does that mean they do not know the Passage found in D and C?
Or they do, but they are afraid of the reply I might give? Mormonism is false and simply leading souls to eternal damnation, and Pride is keeping you guys from the truth. Rick b
